Are you ready for your Entrepreneurial Comeback?

No matter what challenges have befallen you, our greatest stories in history involve comebacks. Are you ready for yours?

Comebacks are usually found in sports, politics and music but are equally applicable to each one of us. Take the story of Lance Armstrong and his incredible comeback from cancer to become one of the greatest cyclists of all time; Nelson Mandela made a comeback to politics after being released from 27 years in prison to become South Africa’s first elected Free Leader and Martha Stewart made an incredible comeback from scandal and prison to once again build a hugely successful media career.

What is it that created these comebacks? Belief that the comeback is possible! That simple? You bet.

So what is stopping you? Every one of us faces adversity at some time in our lives when we seem to literally derail from our goals and plans.

The current recession is causing more of us to derail than at any other time. We either succumb to this derailment or we overcome and create a second chance for ourselves. It is my belief that second chances are created so that we can truly become the people we were intended to be – we get a chance to live our purpose instead of following a plan designed by our environment or culture.

When we finally release the burden of doing what it is that we think we are expected to do, a sense of creative freedom is released within us to follow our passions and live a life of being instead of doing.

I know this story because it is my story and so I will share just a little with you not to bore you, but to encourage you to follow your heart.

My children caused me to derail. I have three boys aged 10, 8 and 3. I started my family late, and I felt extremely blessed to be gifted with two boys in close succession but I did not anticipate the derailment of my very successful career at that time. I am sure many mothers can relate when I say that my career literally spun off the kitchen table when my second son was born. I was living in London, UK at the time. How could I combine my demanding, uncompromising career with my longed-for role as a mother?

A period of transition and uncertainty followed as I wrestled with this internal conflict. My comeback came in the form of a new career in wellness and healing where I found my passion for helping others working from offices based close to my home.

Now based in the United States, I am working on my third career comeback: this time into personal development, leadership and facilitation. I can see that every experience I have had has prepared me for this time. It has required me to overcome fears and doubts. When we remain in the same role for years, we become familiar perhaps even complacent.

I encourage you not to become complacent when life throws curved balls at you. They are given to you for a reason; they will only last a season but the lessons learned will take you forward into a better life and make you a better person.

Stop for a while, write down what you are truly passionate about and plan your comeback. You will be glad you did and so will everyone who connects with you and meets a person following their purpose with passion.

I am excited to read your comments and your comeback story below!

Clare,

Wow… you’ve really created a comeback that is near and dear to your heart. After all, isn’t what we do and share supposed to be based on passion? Family is important to us as well, and so is the desire to help others with what we can add to their lives. It’s choosing on how to do both that is all about not losing ourselves, but making a comeback to make a difference to as many people as possible.

Thanks,
~ Pat and Lorna

Hi Clare,

I found you on TSA. I love the comeback because everybody loves an underdog. Being complacency is being habitual and to break out of it, you do have to step out of your comfort zone, and take on new challenges. As you said, it helps to start with passion because that fuels our desire to make a change. Without passion, there’s no motivation, and if there’s motivation, it’s hard to change and make a comeback.

Clare,
What a wonderful reminder of what is true in all of our hearts in that it is human nature to love a comeback!

The question is never whether or not we CAN it is whether or not we WILL. The infinite power of possibility is present in each of us due to the lifespark our creator has imparted in us. In doing so he has given us a certain measure of possibility.

There is nothing that we cannot accomplish as long as our heart, mind, and will are as one.

This is an important lesson to learn. Once learned the reality that we can manifest is truly boundless.

I look forward to continuing to see you grow as the incredible leader that you are my friend.

To Our Massive Success,
John
